THE MOST SIGNIFICANT INSIGNIFICANTS

....posted by Abie Dweck

After every year in baseball there are always a few trades or signings that go under the radar that fans and media ask "how did i miss that one", or "how did every team in baseball miss that one". This time i am going to tell you the trade that was made that has been overlooked by many that will have the greatest impact in 2008.

When the Padres traded Scot Linebrink to the Brewers for a few minor leaguers late last season, the Brewers gave away a pitcher by the name of Will Inman. The 6-foot, 200-pound 20 yr old Inman throws a four-seam fastball, a slurve that he can either toss as a curve or tighten into a slider and a change-up. His fastball range is 90-94mph and his chageup is about 79mph. This guy has the goods and he is showing it with a better then 1 k per IP. In 159 Ip he has 180 K and only 127 Hits, there's your "Nesser" stat. He will probably start in the bullpen before making his way to the rotation late in the 08 season.

Now, for a guy that we all know that was traded that made us all go "so what". Everyone looking at the central division is saying its either the Brewers or Cubs and maybe Houston if every move they made this offseason pays off. But the deal between the Cards and Jays may turn out to be the dunce trade of the year. Ever since Albert Pujols lost his protection behind him (injured Jim Edmonds and disgruntled Scot Rolen) their teams success has dropped. However adding a Troy Glaus, even if he has an ok year, remember the least amount of hr this guy has hit when playing at least 140 games is 29 hr and that was in his 2nd season in the league. Also, they lost Scot Rolen whom acc to his own manager was a deadbeat in the locker room. Couple this with the addition of Matt Clement another guy i see having an impact on this team and they are a midline starter away from being a playoff team. Oh and dont forget about Colby Rasmus he only hit 29 homers in 128 games last year in AAA, so im sure he'll solve any outfield help they'll need by midseason.

I would like to thank SAMIAM for giving me the opportunity to post on his website. I know that max n will prob rip me and has about 30 guys that he thinks will be great this year that even Peter Gammons hasnt heard of (some prob not born yet). But hes smoking pot so he 's allowed to know every player in the minors.

NOW BASH ME ALREADY!!

THE G-MEN V.S. PERFECTION

After watching last nights game I was thoroughly impressed with Big Blue. Starting at the top with usually incompetent Eli Manning, Hes starting to show the world (myself included ) That hes a pretty damn good quarterback (at times). To be honest with you, Within the first hour to hour and a half after the game i was still saying that Eli wasn't great. but after thinking about it long and hard , he did throw some unbelievable passes, and he didn't screw up. He kept his composure in a usually hostile and very intimidating place to play.

The Wide receiving core as a whole was truly amazing. Plax pulling off a performance like that on a torn ligament. Now all his critics that say when it comes to a big game he shrinks should just
SHUT UP!!!!!

Toomers diving catch on the sidelines keeping his 2 feet in was one of the greatest catches your ever going to see in the playoffs.

The running Backs Were a huge impact as well. Jacobs Was extremely effective and when called upon Bradshaw had some very timely spurts.

Laurence Tynes......Where do I Begin? When He missed the first one I was Saying Wow this guy sucks. But when He missed the second (granted it was a bad snap) I fell on the floor laughing.(literally) I was screaming DOUG BRIAN(that name still sends shudders down my spine.)I kept on repeating the Giants have turned into the Jets. But I was ultimately Proven Wrong.(NOBODY SUCKS AS HARD AS THE JETS....UNFORTUNATELY)

When Tynes lined up for the 47 yarder to win it even Giants fans were saying the only way he makes it is if hell freezes over...apparently Lambeau was hell cause it was frozen over.

As a whole the offense under those frigid conditions were DYNAMIC

The defense continues to step it up. The run D was better than what even the giants probably expected it to be They kept Grant totally ineffective. If you have been watching the playoffs. That's an extremely tough task. Both Lines Offense a D, And the corner backs Really did a phenomenal job.

All I have to say is Job well done.

On to the Packers, If it weren't for that one really long catch and run by Donald "ALL Wheel"Driver The Pack didn't do Jack. Favre was extremely disappointing. He probably was expecting the victory Because of the whole lambeau aura thing. but Guess what Brett....YOU WERE THE GOAT LAST NIGHT.

Finally Its time to ask the million dollar Question.....Do the Giants have a prayer against the Perfect Pats?.....Unfortunately Giants fans the answer is NO!

If Tom Brady can get away with throwing 3 int's and Randy Moss only had 2 catches in the last 2 games and they still win!! this Team is to freaking good. As a Jets fan I hate them with a passion but there is no denying it This team is unbeatable. Barring any major injuries Pats win it again..it sucks but its true

P.S. Pitchers and Catchers report Really Really soon.
( But Not Soon enough.)
